Extracted from the species Oneocarpus bataua, belonging to the Arecaceae family, native to South America, mainly in the basins of the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers, it is popularly known as Patauá, Patoá and Patuá, it has several types of application in foods as it is highly unsaturated and rich in vitamins.
The oil is extracted through cold processing of the pulp.
